These folks have the goods-great selection at honest prices, whether it’s for snacks, tobacco, alcohol or everything else you’d expect. It’s organized and clean, the folks working the counter are always nice. The concrete by the pumps needs some repair and I’ll give the owner a pass on that since I know how expensive that is. Based on how everything else is taken care of, I’m sure he’ll have that fixed up soon if he hasn’t already. I usually avoid the “smoke and liquor” shops because they’re often seedy and run down, on top of being over-priced, but this place is not like that at all. One of my favorite businesses in Smithville.

Perfect place to stop by on the way to Smithville Lake. Great prices on booze and snacks. As well as free ice for your coolers.

I read the reviews online about Discount Smokes having the cheapest cigarettes in town. I had always driven to RedX in Riverside for my cigarettes because I thought that THEY had the best prices. So, with my move to Smithville, I did a price comparison. The carton price at Discount Smokes was $0.15 higher, and the tax was $0.26 higher. It was $0.41 higher per carton, but I am big on buying local. CONCLUSION ... I will buy local and pay $0.41 more per carton, rather than drive all the way over to Platte County just to save $0.41. The folks there were helpful & friendly, and it takes less time than it does at RedX. I was already annoyed by RedX. When I went to buy a carton, I could not pay for it there. I had to go to a checkout lane and wait. I refused to go to the checkout stands that they directed me to because I was parked on the opposite end of the store. They took my cigarettes away from me, and I had to walk with them to the other checkout lanes. I felt like I was in First Grade again. I will buy at Discount Smokes in the future and save the gas and the annoyance!

Its a Cenex Gas station at the north end of the Town. Cheapest Cigarette pack and Carton Prices and Cheapest Beer Prices in Town. Very nice selection of Liquor. Get FREE Ice for your cooler when you buy your beer here. Friendlier service
