My first experience with Smokin gun Worx was back in March of this year. I had just left a disappointing antique gun show and thought I would take a small detour to check them out. I've heard their adds, a couple friends of mine said they stopped in, I figured it wouldn't hurt. When I arrived the first time it was busy. I really had no intention of purchasing anything other than some cleaning supplies. Looking through their impressive collection of firearms on hand I saw a nice compact 9mm. I had been thinking of getting something along those lines, but hadn't pulled the trigger. (See what I did there...) I can't remember the name of the associate that assisted me, but he was really informative and helpful. I told him I was interested, but I couldn't purchase until I had a chance to test fire one. He made an arrangement where I was able to test fire one of theirs they rent. After being able to test fire on their in-house range, I made the purchase. I brought my son with me when I went to pick it up. They set up some range time so I could let him shoot it and I could get some practice on it. The range officer was friendly and provided constructive feedback to my son. He did it in a way as to not be intrusive of a father/son lesson, but in a way that a 17 year old boy would listen. I was very appreciative. Since then I've been back multiple times. I drive the distance from Rockford to purchase from them solely on the way they've treated me, my son, and other's I know that have visited. I've bought ammo, cleaning supplies, and other equipment. Sure, I wish they were closer, but it's worth the drive. They also offer various classes including Concealed carry, hunter safety, and beginner lessons. I can't comment on the classes as I haven't taken one from them. However I'm hoping to change that in the near future.

I love going here. People are super friendly and really knowledgeable. Doc the owner is a really nice guy. He helped me pick out my first AR. Jarrett has transformed two of my guns into beautiful colors. Rose golded my P365 and .Cobalt Blued my M&P 2. My AR I’ll have him transform into Black Cherry. Both their wives are wonderful and super helpful. Can’t say enough about Keegan. Super smart .. he’s like a walking encyclopedia for firearms. Great inventory and prices. I’m so glad I found this place.

Very disappoint although it seemed like a clean well stocked place. Seems a 5 minute phone call from a customer to much time. Called gave a VERY DETAILED DESCRIPTION of what I was looking for. Was assured they had it, even after asking again if he was sure a second time. Not like I was coming across town and I did explain it was a haul for me. They didn't have the 20 boxes I was told they had, matter of fact not even 1 box was on the shelf. So i guess over 2 and a half hours of my time is worth way less than 5 minutes of an employees time. Livid is a understatement I'll never be back.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I have been to other places and felt discriminated against. This is the only place we will shop and have recommended it to friends and family. Great selection and great prices
